PETITION FOR AN HIV EMPLOYMENT LAW

This petition is part of mass countrywide efforts to encourage Parliament to amend the current employment law to include provisions that will:

  • Protect HIV+ workers in their jobs
  • Prohibit HIV testing for employment or promotion
  • Forbid disclosure of workers’ HIV status without their consent
  • Protect from discrimination based on HIV status
  • Encourage policies to reduce risk of HIV transmission in the workplace
  • Give equal employment opportunities
  • Make the right to health a constitutional right.

This petition, and hundreds of others being circulated throughout the country, will be presented to Parliament. If you support this effort, please join our demonstration march on 11 November 2006, and sign the petition below.

I, THE UNDERSIGNED, SUPPORT THE PASSAGE OF AN EMPLOYMENT LAW TO PROTECT THE RIGHTS OF PEOPLE INFECTED AND AFFECTED BY HIV.
