1) PROGRAMMES MANAGER

BONELA is looking to fill the above position with a suitably qualified and spirited individual.

BONELA undertakes research, media, litigation, legal literacy and advocacy as well as training programmes on ethics, legal & human rights issues relating to TB and HIV and AIDS. For more information, go to www.bonela.org.

The successful candidate will guide the strategic planning and implementation of all BONELA’s programmes.

They will be responsible for:
Strategic and/or operational management of all BONELA programmes by working closely with programme officers and the Director.

  • Ensuring that all programmes meet appropriate standards of design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
  • Coordinating fundraising activities and budgeting for all BONELA programmes by working closely with the Finance Department and programme officers in the preparation of budgets for programmes as well as revision of projects.
  • Managing programmes and reporting deadlines.
  • Reviewing the strategic plan of BONELA to ensure that all projects, concept notes and proposals are developed in line with the strategic plan.
  • Assisting in the development, enhancement and implementation of BONELA’s policies and procedures.
  • Ensuring that all staff (administrative and programmatic) has up-to-date job descriptions and regular and systematic performance review processes are undertaken.
  • Reporting timely to the Director.
  • Maintaining good donor relations through the production of high quality and timely donor proposals and reports.

This is initially a two (2) year contract to be renewed depending on the availability of funds and performance of duties.

Requirements:

  • A relevant Social Sciences degree, a Masters Degree in Programme Management would be an added advantage.
  • 5 years experience in a programme management position, preferably in a civil society organization.
  • Clarity of vision, developed strategic skills with ability to shape and deliver programme objectives and lead change.
  • Ability to provide strategic direction of programmes.
  • Ability to manage human resources.
  •  Strong budgeting and financial management skills.
  • Ability to manage timelines.
  • Knowledge of the human rights and HIV and AIDS context in Botswana will be an advantage.
  • Professional manners, strong leadership and excellent people skills.
  • Computer literacy, excellent spoken and written (including editing) communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, with high level of independence and flexibility.

2) BONELA BOARD OF DIRECTORS

The Botswana Network on Ethics, Law and HIV/AIDS (BONELA) invites applications from suitably skilled;passionate and motivated individuals for appointment within its Board of Directors.

The candidates sought for should be individuals with competence and experience in, but not limited to, Accounting; Health; Social Sciences; Law and Ethics fields.

Candidates with a traceable history of human rights and HIV and AIDS activism will also be considered.

In addition, the individuals should exhibit the following strengths:

  • Resource mobilization
  • Empathy
  • Passion for working on human rights and HIV and AIDS issues and ability to work with most at risk populations (MARPS)
  • Excellent inter-personal skills
  • Excellent Leadership and Governance skills
