VACANCY: EDITORIAL BOARD MEMBERS – THREE YEAR RENEWABLE CONTRACT

Applications are invited from suitably qualified professionals to serve in the editorial board of the Botswana Review on Ethics, Law and HIV/AIDS (BRELA), the official journal of the Botswana Network on Ethics, Law and HIV/AIDS.

Background on BRELA

Started in 2007, (BRELA) is a peer-reviewed journal that is becoming a leading platform and participatory forum for critical and analytical discussions of a broad range of multi-sectoral issues and debates surrounding HIV and AIDS and questions of ethics, law, human rights, and development. BRELA provides a forum for individuals, institutions and organizations from diverse backgrounds to present ideas, research and best practices, and thus contribute to the development of skills and capacity building; to serve as a resource guide for a broad range of readers, from users of public libraries around the country, to partners, providing an accessible way of updating, informing and stimulating discussions on HIV/AIDS.

Main purpose of the job:

Applications are invited from academically accomplished individuals from any field to provide constructive and timely peer-reviewing services on submissions made to the journal. They will also be required to provide technical guidance that will help take BRELA to greater heights of innovative and excellent academic exchange that is relevant and valuable to communities in the developing context.

Requirements:
Interested applicants should have an a advanced degree in any field with strong evidence of scholarly publications on HIV and AIDS, preferably on issues of ethics, law, human rights, development and related areas. Evidence of prior experience in peer-reviewing academic submissions is a must. Experience of serving in an editorial board of a scholarly journal will be an added advantage. Applicants must also be able to provide leadership and vision for journal and its aim to become a premium platform for HIV and AIDS research that is grounded in ethics, law, and human rights.
